PHOENIX (May 5, 2010) – ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will feature a wish-come-true for an 11-year-old Utah girl on its Mother’s Day episode, Sunday (May 9) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Aspiring interior designer Callie London of Farmington, Utah, wished to make over a child’s room. With the help of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team, her wish was granted. She worked with team leader Ty Pennington and designers Paul DiMeo, Eduardo Xol and Paige Hemmis during the seven-day build in Tulsa, Okla., to create a new bedroom for 10-year-old Ethan Starkweather, who like London has a life-threatening medical condition.
Starkweather had received a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, going to Walt Disney World® Resort in October 2008. He since has supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma as a wish ambassador, speaking about his wish experience at chapter events and leading a coin drive at his school to raise money for other kids’ wishes.
The episode chronicles the build of the Starkweather family’s new home and includes appearances by Lilith Tour 2010 artists Sheryl Crow and Miranda Lambert as the “Get On the Bus” volunteers and Sarah McLachlan with a special message for the Starkweathers.
